First Year Field Experience, École Dunrae Gardens
I actively took notes while observing a variety of classrooms. This allowed me to understand the importance of classroom management, and how to effectively discipline students without offending them. I had the opportunity to learn a variety of ways of connecting with students and ensuring that all cultures are represented in the classroom. I also had the privilege of leading storytelling sessions, and working with students individually in the mathematics, and English language arts classroom.
September 2017-Present
Dance Teacher, L'Académie de danse de Montréal
I develop and teach weekly content to students between the ages of two and eight years old. I also teach a parent & me dance class where the children dance with their parents weekly. I upload new content to google classroom in order for students to practice at hold, along with prepare dances for students to present in two annual shows (mid-year production, and end-of-year production). I also ensure that parents are comfortable with class progression through monthly check-ins, and always attend staff meeting.
June 2022-June 2023
Summer Camp Monitor, L'Académie de danse de Montréal
I prepare weekly dances, and activities for students between the ages of six to thirdteen years old. I also organize weekly shows for the parents to attend. I supervisor students during lunch and daycare hours; throughout this time I prepare activities which represent all cultures in the classroom. For instance, co-leading olympic week. I also ensure that all students are integrated and feel welcome in the classroom by providing them the opportunity to remain autonomous and creative. I will often guide students into creating their own dances.
